Kindergarten Homework
Kindergarten homework will be sent home in your child's Friday Folders, please check folders carefully every week.
Reading Logs
-Addition Flash Cards: Please practice the addition facts flashcards with your child at home. The goal is to be able to add through 5 quickly and without using fingers. (If your child can already do this, practice adding fluently through 10, then subtracting fluently through 5, then subtracting fluently through 10.)
-Reading Logs: Please continue to read daily and fill out the reading log that runs from Monday to Friday. Keep a tally of the number of books read.
- Handwriting Practice: Please help your child to form the letters correctly and neatly on their handwriting practice sheets sent home weekly.
-Math: Most weeks there will be math homework attached to the special helpers and reading log. Please have your child complete it and return it when the reading log is due.
- Letter Recognition and Sounds: By now, your child should be able to identify all of the letters and produce all of the sounds. If your student does not yet know all of their letters and sounds, please prioritize this over practicing sight words.
-Sight Words: Please remember to practice sight words regularly with your child. By this time, they should know 50 or more sight words.
-Sight Word Spelling Tests:
We appreciate all your work to help your child learn their sight words. Please continue to help your child read and spell their sight words each week.
